Also since startup poker has been a somewhat irregular event so far we’ve decided to go with something more regular by running startup ooker on the last Friday every three months so we can say, with some variance of confidence, that the next event will be Friday 25th January 2013 (unforeseen events such as the zombie apocalypse or a clash with some other great tech event notwithstanding of course!).
We had another great night in the stunning offices of Wayra Ireland! Look at that view!

And that presentation space:

Pretty sweet space, uh? If you have a chance to visit it, don’t miss it.
Pizzas and drinks were sponsored by our host and brought to us on demand by Russell Banks (look at him, standing in the middle of the picture, you can see he had his job at heart). Honestly, I don’t know how we’re going to improve on that ;)

Our bounty on Shane Grimes worked as, for once, he didn’t end up winning the tournament, although he made it to the final table.
So without further ado, our two Startup Poker Dublin IV top players: Ed O’Riordan (left, second) and Fergus Stuart (right, first). Great job guys! That wasn’t an easy one, as we were increasing the blinds pretty quickly towards the end.

Next edition in a couple of months or so.
Hi everyone,
This edition of Startup Poker will take place at Wayra Ireland, 28-29 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay (map). They will also provide us with drinks and food!

This is a great opportunity to discover this new space in Dublin and to know more about what they do, in addition to a great night with fellow startupers.
We’ll need to start a bit earlier than usual, so please be there around 6:30pm!
As we have found a generous food sponsor, the registration money will go to the first crazy hand of the night ;) We’ll define some rules for it.
There are still a few seats available. You can register on Eventbrite. See you on Friday!
A special summer edition of Startup Poker!
What you need to know:
When: Friday, August 10, starts at 7:30pm (until 1am)
Where: Te be announced, but it’s going to be a place you’ll hear a lot about in the future.
Registration: On Eventbrite. Places are limited to 30 seats as usual and we collect a 5 Euros fee for beers and pizzas. If we find a sponsor for them, we’ll give back that money to the lucky owner of craziest hand of the night.
Buy-in: 20 Euros with 1 rebuy OR 1 add-on possible (20 Euros too).
As I (Ben) am leaving Ireland, this will also be an opportunity to say goodbye and thank you to all of those who will be able to make it. Ireland has such a great startup community! The good news is that Russell and Shane are going to keep Startup Poker alive in an even better and more regular way.
Grab your seat now, before it’s too late ;)
Startup Poker III took place on Friday at Startup Bootcamp Dublin. Great time as usual and I need to thanks Shane, who won the first two editions, as he took care of the organization and therefore ended up not playing.
We had two amazing sponsors this time. Mercury Digital, the interactive digital agency, who paid for the bar and Startup Weekend, who paid for the food. Many Thanks to those 2 organizations!!
Here are a few pictures of the night:

Everybody’s ready. And yes, this is Startup Bootcamp’s lobby. Visit the space if you have a chance, it’s really cool.

Eoghan Jennings, who runs Startup Bootcamp, made it to the final table after some pretty intense hands.

The final table getting ready for the first hand. Everybody tries to impress the other players ;) We even had a dealer for that final table, Ger Harte, who did a splendid job.
And our big winner this time was Cristi Badea, a Startup Bootcamp member working on a startup (mavenhut) that bridges the gap between online gaming and … gambling. Congrats!

If you’re looking for pictures of the last edition, they’re on the global startup poker website.
Next event in 2 or 3 months.
We held our second edition of Startup Poker Dublin yesterday. It was a great time again at Dogpatch Labs, who provided us with plenty of pizza and beers. Thanks Dogpatch!
Our guest from the US last time was Matthew Gonzales. This time, we had the pleasure to have with us Grant Carlile, who is visiting Dublin these days before attending Interaction 12, the UX/UI conference that will take place next week.
About half of the people in the crowd were new, which is great as the goal remains to meet new people from the Dublin Startups scene. Sooner or later, we’ll have to find a way to lift our current 30 seats limits so even more people can join.
Here are a few pictures of the event. Thanks everybody for coming and see you in 2-3 months for the next edition!

There are some surprises waiting for you for this edition.
